Managing Your Account

Accessing Account Settings

  1. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner
  2. Select "My Profile" from the dropdown menu
  3. Click "Settings" to access your account settings

What You Can Manage

  • Profile Information: Name, bio, profile picture, phone number
  • Email Settings: Change email address, verify email
  • Password: Update your password for security
  • Notification Preferences: Control what emails and notifications you receive
  • Privacy Settings: Manage who can see your profile and listings
  • Payment Methods: Add, remove, or update payment information

Privacy Settings

Control your privacy and what information is visible to others:

Profile Visibility

  • Public Profile: Your name, photo, and bio are visible to all users
  • Contact Information: Email and phone are only shared after confirmed bookings
  • Address: Full address is only shared with confirmed renters
  • Reviews: All reviews are public to build trust

Data Privacy

  • We never sell your personal information
  • Your payment information is encrypted and secure
  • You can request a copy of your data at any time
  • You can delete your account and data (see below)

Notification Preferences

Customize what notifications you receive:

Email Notifications

  • Booking Updates: Confirmations, cancellations, reminders
  • Messages: New messages from other users
  • Reviews: When someone leaves you a review
  • Marketing: Tips, promotions, and platform updates (optional)

Push Notifications (Coming Soon)

  • Real-time booking requests and confirmations
  • New messages
  • Rental reminders
  • Important account updates

Note: You cannot opt out of essential transactional emails (booking confirmations, password resets, etc.)

Deleting Your Account

Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Before You Delete

  • Complete or cancel all active bookings
  • Remove all active listings
  • Withdraw any remaining balance
  • Download any data you want to keep

How to Delete Your Account

  1. Go to your Profile Settings
  2. Scroll to the "Danger Zone" section
  3. Click "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm your decision
  5. Your account will be permanently deleted within 30 days

What Happens When You Delete

  • Your profile and listings are immediately hidden
  • Your personal data is deleted within 30 days
  • Reviews you've written remain visible (anonymized)
  • Transaction history is retained for legal/accounting purposes
  • You cannot create a new account with the same email for 90 days

Alternative: Consider deactivating your account temporarily instead of deleting it. Contact support for this option.
